Papal Audience

 People from the Diocese of Rockford who are planning trips to Rome and are interested in attending a Papal Audience should send a letter to the Chancery Office with the following information:  

Name(s) of Person(s)

Address of person making request

Parish of the person(s)

Date of the Trip (they Must be in Rome on a Wednesday)

Address the letter to Msgr. David D. Kagan, P.O. Box 7044, Rockford , IL 61125  

We send a letter to people instructing them to contact Msgr. Roensch in Rome and how to pick up their tickets. Please send your requests at least two (2) month before the scheduled trip. Please contact Gwen Lashack at the Chancery Office with any further questions. (815) 399-4300.  

Papal Blessings  

Papal Blessings are available through the Rockford Catholic Diocese for people residing in this diocese. A letter from the pastor must be sent to the Chancery requesting a Papal Blessing. List all pertinent information including:  

Name(s) of the person(s) (Do not use maiden names of brides, thank you)

Occasion (must be current, we cannot request blessings for marriages that occurred years ago, etc)

Date of Special Event (please send anniversary dates including the year they were married, born, etc. not when the party is to be celebrated.  

Address the letter to Msgr. David D. Kagan, P.O. Box 7044 , Rockford , IL 61125  

Payment must be included with the request before it is sent to Rome . The typical blessing is $55.00 but the more elaborate one (for very special occasions is $85.00). Checks should be made payable to the Diocese of Rockford. Please allow at least six (6) months for delivery. We will then send the blessing to the parish as soon as it arrives. Because this is sent to Rome, we do not have control over when they are done. They are sent to the parish the moment they arrive at the Chancery.
