Bishop Malloy on the USCCB Statement

I welcome the statement issued today by The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Administrative Committee announcing that it has moved ahead and taken some definitive steps within its authority to address the issues surrounding policies, reporting of sexual abuse, codes of conduct for bishops and an investigation into the actions of Archbishop Theodore McCarrick.

As the Committee stated in its announcement, ‘This is only a beginning.’ But it is an important first step for us bishops and our church in working to restore justice for those we serve and repair the loss of trust. I support this important work and hope you will join me in prayer for its successful completion.
