All employees and volunteers of the Diocese of Rockford are required to complete Safe Environment requirements pertaining to their specific role. This is completed online in a Virtus Online account. You will create a new account with a password (obtained by your parish/school/entity site administrator) or log into your existing account.

Do I have direct contact with minors?
Anyone who works or volunteers when/if a minor is/may be present is considered to have direct contact with minors.

New Employees and Volunteers, who are required to comply with the Diocese of Rockford’s Safe Environment Policies, will need to contact their parish/school/entity Virtus Site Administrator to further assistance in completing these requirements. 

All requirements are to be completed before the individual is permitted to work and/or volunteer in the Diocese of Rockford.

Mandated Reporter Online Training

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

If you are an employee, who has direct contact with minors,

or a volunteer, who holds the title of:
C/DRE, C/DYM, Coach/Assistant Coach

you must complete the DCFS

Mandated Reporter Online Training per Illinois State Law.

This training will be assigned during the registration process
when you set up your Virtus Online Account.

The training is now on Virtus. The certificate will be saved to their account after completion.

The links to take the training on the DCFS site are below. This version of training should only be taken if your role requires you to take it on the DCFS site. If taken this way, the Virtus Administrator for your location must manually enter the training.

Print and submit the certificate of completion to your supervisor.

Attend a Live Protecting God's Children Training

The Diocese of Rockford offers 3 hour in-person training sessions for Protecting God’s Children Training. If you wish to attend you must do so in your Virtus Online Account. If you need assistance in signing up through your account, you may contact your parish/school/entity Virtus Site Administrator directly for assistance.
