Bishop Malloy Celebrates Mass on the Feast of St. Clare

Date: August 12, 2014

Bishop David Malloy blesses ‘St. Clare bread’ following Mass at the Poor Clares Monastery in Rockford on the feast of St. Clare, Aug. 11. The bishop noted that the rule of life written by St. Clare continues to be lived out 761 years later, and he thanked the sisters for their example and fidelity and for their prayers. The bread was passed out to those attending the Mass, who also were invited to the parlor to say hello to the Poor Clares.
