Annual Religious American Sign Language Training

The annual Religious American Sign Language training was held In mid-July at Bishop Lane Retreat Center. Msgr. Glenn Nelson, director of the Deaf Apostolate for the Diocese of Rockford, organized the week-long event and taught classes in the “frozen” parts of the Mass. Two other instructors worked with students on signing the parts of the Mass that change, such as the readings.

More on this unique program coming in the July 24 issue of The Observer.
