Easter in the Year of Mercy

Bishop David Malloy celebrated Easter Sunday Mass for inmates at the Winnebago County Jail. It was the third year he came to the jail for Easter, and he encouraged the men to “think about how much it is that (Jesus) loves us.” This year, he also was able to provide communion to two women inmates before leaving the jail. Pictured is Laura Ortiz, chairman of the board for Rockford’s jail ministry, who provided music for the Easter Mass.
