Diocesan Certified Websites

What does it mean when a website is certified by the Diocese?

When a website is certified by the Rockford Diocese, it is an acknowledgement that the website's domain name (i.e. somechurch.org) is owned and maintained under the same account as our primary domain (www.rockforddiocese.org), and that we have administrator access to that website.

This ensures that the Diocese has the ability to immediately assist with removal of inappropriate content, viruses and security risks on the website if the needs arises.

If you would like to find out more about getting your website certified, please send an email to [email protected].

Does this mean that we only encourage you to visit certified websites?

No. A non-certified website is still perfectly acceptable to visit. This is simply an added level of security that some of our parishes, schools, and other entities have opted to accept and use.
