Holy Hour of Peace to be Offered Jan. 30; Bishop David Malloy Presides at Cathedral

ROCKFORD—In response to a call for peace in our nation and a renewed respect for human dignity, Bishop David Malloy will preside over a special Holy Hour for Peace.

The event is being held in response to an invitation to all bishops and priests in the U.S. issued Jan. 28 by Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Upon receiving the call for peace and healing, Bishop Malloy sent a letter to all priests of the diocese asking them too to offer a Holy Hour in their parishes as they are able. Bishop Malloy’s Holy Hour will be offered at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St., at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to take part in this solemn service.
